Company:  International Auto Parts, Inc (IAP) founded in 1971, is a catalog and ecommerce company with 65 employees in three sections providing $22MM in gross revenue.  The first, AutoSport is a fast-growing national catalog and Internet retailer of accessories for cars, SUVs, trucks and vans, with over 300,000 customers. Its products include custom-fit floor mats and cargo liners, car covers, car-care products and garage accessories. A sister company, International Auto, is the country?s largest catalog and Internet retailer of parts and accessories for Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Lancia automobiles. Description:  Design, plan, and manage the IT department and systems to effectively meet the demands of our business operations and customers.  Ensure safe, secure and dependable operations of our IT systems.  These systems include our Catalog Management System and Web sites and their associated hardware and networks.

 

Duties:  This is a combination hands-on and leadership role for the IT department.  Supervise a computer analyst, a web developer/programmer, and a network administrator (for 88 PC stations) to ensure that all IT requirements are met.  Facilitate the deployment of the IT infrastructure to support our various internal and external customers.  Lead the development of new systems and applications to enhance the company?s ability to better serve our customers, both internal and external.  Recommend system upgrades and new system purchases. 

 

Environment:  IAP is primarily a Microsoft shop; however Red Hat Linux is used to handle system routers.  There are co-located web servers running Windows 2003, IIS and Coldfusion.  The web servers are supported by two SQL database servers running on Windows 2000.  The company runs a Catalog Management System on a Windows 2000 server running the MvBase database application.  The application is programmed in Pick Basic.  A primary project will be to select and install a newer catalog management system.  A Microsoft?s Exchange Server is utilized for web mail.  There is a small Mac network for the creative department.  Creative runs the InDesign application.  There are two additional Windows 2003 servers for backups using Veritas software.  The company has several additional Windows 2000 servers for PDC, backup PDC, SQL development, MvBase backup and an internal file serving.

 

Qualifications:  Bachelor?s degree in a computer related field and college level MIS/computer courses are required.  Must have extensive hands on knowledge of Database applications (SQL preferred), E-commerce, web application development (cold Fusion preferred), networking, and the Internet.  Must have a thorough understanding of business practices and a demonstrated track record of system design and implementation that improved company operations and profitability.  Must have participated in upper management teams related to developing business strategies.
