Java Application Developer

Responsibilities include:Interact with senior technical personnel, business analysts and client representatives to assist in the design process and provide valuable technical feedback regarding feasibility and logistical concerns.Develop and test custom distributed web applications to support documented business requirements.Participate in the design and implementation of testing script to validate the efficacy of client software deliverables.Assist with the documentation of customized client software products (documentation of custom code and database elements in addition to maintenance procedures for client?s technical staff) as well as aiding in product  deployment and post production support.Incorporate Best Practice standards in all work products and participate in the refinement of those standards to improve quality and productivity.

 

Qualifications:Minimum 1 year in Java development and a fluent working knowledge of J2EE, JFC, JSP, XML, and JDBC.Hands-on experience developing WAS 5.x, 6.x applications is a plus.Experience deploying and customizing WebSphere Commerce 5.x software is a major bonus.Prior development experience with Web services (SOAP, WSDL, XML).Development experience with WSAD, RAD or Eclipse-based tools.Change management experience with Rational ClearCase tool or CVS.Exposure to the requirement gathering and design effort using Rational Unified Process (RUP) and the Unified Modeling Language (UML) is a plus.Strong documentation and verbal communication skills are a must, along with a positive attitude and professional demeanor, and a commitment to quality.
