Java Web Designer

We are currently seeking a talented individual to design and maintain the company’s website including the addition and updating of product, application and fabrication pages and images. This person will develop new dynamic pages that interface with internal company applications, maintain a fresh look and feel on the company’s homepage, and. assist on the management of the application and product pictures, CAD/CAM drawings in a web content management system. Responsibilities: • Develop new page prototypes for review by management and marketing • Prepare and implement new application pictures, product pictures, website graphics • Ability to design innovative new pages with full graphics • Fix broken links and establish new links to external sites or processes (i.e.MapQuest) to provide a better customer experience. • Provide quality control over information on the site to ensure it is correct and reflects the naming conventions, standards, and sales perspective • Maintain and enhance the existing dynamic application (invoice and quote review, setup account, catalog request, product stock lists, product item details) and implement new functionality as requested • Conduct speed tests on pages to ensure quick presentation and compatibility with internet browsers • Maintain leadership in key word searches within major search engines • Business and User requirements definitions • Document new and existing system operations • Problem determination and resolution All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be authorized to work in the United States. Qualifications :
Experience: • 3+ years work experience as a programmer working with Java, STRUTS, JSPs, Tiles, JSTL • Experience in Web Design and/or Web Usability • Working experience with Websphere or other Application Servers • Experience working with large DB2 databases • Experience with visual website design and usability • Experience in Adobe Photoshop • Experience developing and maintaining dynamic websites • Experience in Internet Marketing • Ability to work with relational data bases and their utilities • Experience in an Internet Marketing capacity working with search engines, site bots, and new internet technologies • Experience preparing detailed site statistics and providing the analysis of the findings along with recommendations for improvement to the site • Experience in software analysis: requirements gathering, use case development • Experience in software design: class diagrams, activity diagrams, object diagrams, sequence diagrams • Experience in software testing: documenting test scripts, running test scripts • Knowledge of systems methodology including change management, application development standards • Ability to provide accurate estimates of software development
