ROLE

You will be a software developer on a small agile team developing a consumer Web 2.0 social networking application and other software applications. You will have the opportunity to participate in design sessions and will be responsible for developing designs, coding, and testing the application. You should be very strong at front end web development and have the ability to transform web designs into HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JSP with a clean separation of content and style. You will contribute to developing the application code, business logic, and data access logic. You will participate in an agile software development process that includes participating in design sessions, developing test cases, writing documentation, and following internal standards in coding, version control, testing, and deployment.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDesign, implement, document, and test Web-based, data driven and workflow driven applications Document design and implementation. Estimate work effort on project tasks. Convert web designs into functioning web pages with a clear separation of content and style. Construct designs using a combination of, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, AJAX, JSP Java and MySql Develop test cases, identify and correct coding, performance and other software issues Participate in design, standards and code reviews Maintain software application and contribute to fixing bugs, implementing software improvements, refactoring software, and improving web implementations   Work on a variety of projects in an agile and adaptive team environment

 

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

? Worked the last 3-5 years as a web developer in a Java development environment.

? Strong at web development in XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, AJAX, JSP Java and MySql Strong knowledge and experience in the Struts web framework, Tomcat, MySql, JSP/Tiles, JSTL, and Velocity. A strong understanding of the Document Object Model (DOM). A Strong understanding of browser incompatibilities. Knowledge and experience developing with third party web api?s such as GoogleMaps, Flickr, and RSS. Experience developing web services a plus. Very strong at object-oriented design and software development principles. Good research skills. Ability to learn new software techniques. Ability to prototype new systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
