POSITION PURPOSE:  

Directs, establishes, maintains, and plans the overall policies and goals for the System Development department. The department facilitates the creation and implementation of new products and architectures for external customer systems such as web hosting and email.  Also, the Manager of System Development provides technical leadership to the System Developers.  Software lifecycle is also maintained from concept to implementation and ongoing support.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

? Supervise and mentor System Developers

? Report to Director of Development regarding tasks, plans and deadlines for System Development

?Maintain and improve processes and procedures for software lifecycle including software documentation and defect tracking

? Communicate with project management on software project status

? Ensure that sys dev team meets project deadlines.

? Interact with other departments to plan system specific updates

? Participate in the implementation of new computer systems and software updates

? Collaborate with architecture and other engineering and development teams to implement complex tools and applications for the company?s systems.

? Maintain existing systems as required by operations and support services

 

 

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

? Graduation from an accredited four‑year college or university or equivalent in computer science  or equivalent, and    Six (6) years of software development experience   Four (4) years experience managing technical staff

? Any equivalent combination of education and experience

? Knowledge of entire process of software production from documentation to design concept up through and including launch

? Strong organizational skills

? Strong mentoring skills

? Strong interpersonal and communications skills  Ability to work in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment
