Manager, Technology - PDS Retail Systems

The Technology Manager, PDS Print & Document Services - Retail Systems is responsible for managing the PDS technology business segment for Retail Operations Systems. These systems may include but are not limited to Desk Top Publishing, Software and Hardware Solutions, Workflow Management, Point-of-Sale systems and Variable Data solutions delivered via various business and distribution channels.

 

The Technology Manager provides expertise in the product and services offered in the area of responsibility, tracks industry trends and competitive service offerings. The Technology Manager manages vendor relationships, works cross-functionally with OfficeMax departments and responds to store and field management requests in a solutions-oriented manner.

 

Position Responsibilities:
Drive sales and profits through expanding existing product and service offerings, introducing new product and service offerings, through all channels, leveraging all resources available.
Work closely with IT to ensure all projects are prioritized and deadlines are met.
Work closely with PDS store operations and commercial sales to ensure all retail systems meet the needs of both internal and external customers. Review and recommend new services and solutions based on customer needs and industry trends.
Monitor marketplace to ensure competitive equipment, services and pricing.
Provide direction and assist in developing training and communications to field and corporate management in regards to areas of responsibility. This includes performance targets of stores and service level agreements of vendor partners.

Quantitative Dimensions
This position is responsible for the launch and management of all assigned technology solutions and service offerings across all supported segments of OfficeMax.  Gross margin dollars and percentages will be impacted and measured, along with sales growth in new service and product offerings.


Bachelor’s Degree in eCommerce, Marketing, Business Administration or appropriate discipline preferred
Strong project management experience
Previous experience as a product or technology manager for a company with multiple locations and business channels
Negotiating, vendor management and contract management skills
Strong analytical skills and ability to measure and manage large amounts of data
Verbal and written communication skills
Established business acumen with ability to work with and communicate with field personnel as well as senior management level executives
