Under general supervision, develop and implement methodology to support 24x7 critical database architecture.

 

Database Responsibilities:

?  Administer database backup and recovery

?  Administer disk space allocation

?  Security administration

?  Database object maintenance

?  Performance tuning

?  Troubleshooting

?  24x7 support

?  Implement monitoring and alerting features

Management Responsibilities:

?  Communication with Development staff

?  Coordinate maintenance with Operations staff

?  Train staff in basic database operations

?  Document standard operating procedures

 

Technical Skills: 

 Project ManagementRelational Database Principles  MySQLLanguages: Perl, JavaOperating Systems: Solaris, LinuxModeling Tools:  ErwinSupport Tools: KSH, CVS.Hardware:  Sun, Rackable

 

Qualifications: 

 Degree in Computer Science or related technical or scientific degree ore related, equivalent experience.5+ years of experience with maintaining Relational Database Management Systems.Strong business knowledge.Must have previous experience with large-scale databasesMust have strong experience in migrating systems.Experience with 100% uptime environment.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and drive teams effectively required.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent analytical skills, flexibility, ability to plan and organize, responsiveness, creativity.Knowledge and experience in high performance computing environments. Demonstrated ability to perform in demanding multi-task environment.
