NT/Windows System Admin III

NTT America provides corporate customers with one-stop business communications solutions combining private network services, Global IP Network services, and Enterprise Hosting services.

 

Enterprise Hosting has the position of NT/Windows System Admin III open in the Sterling, VA office.

 

Job Summary:  Answers customer questions and resolves technical support problems related to network, software, hardware, and OS level issues via phone and IDS. Special Skills/Experience Required:


Special Skills:
* 3-4 years experience working with Windows Server platforms
* Good network knowledge with an excellent understanding of the Windows Server environment including IIS

* Excellent understanding of DNS
* Software installation experience
* Excellent problem solving skills and knowledge of PC hardware troubleshooting issues
* Full knowledge of most of the supported software including email software
* Thorough knowledge of the processes and procedures used for all aspects of the supporting role
* Excellent interpersonal skills to handle unhappy and irate customers with good written and verbal communication skills

Duties:
* Thoroughly describes and documents work using trouble ticketing system.
* Updates the IDS ticketing system with current status of all ongoing issues.
* Installs and configures software requested by customers.
* Answers questions from customers that are escalated from Level 2 Adminsistrators.
* Installs, configures and supports the Ultrabac and Arsenal Backup products.
* Administers internal systems (like Windows Domain controllers and WINS servers in each data center and Internal support systems like infobandit, ntsupport, and File Servers).
* Trains incoming Level 1 System Administrators on processes and procedures for the systems that we use.
* Provides training in skill sets for Level 1 and Level 2 System Administrators.
* Assigns IDS tickets for System Administrators and spot checks random tickets for accuracy and content.
* Handles escalations of unhappy or irate customers; escalates issues from clients that cannot be handled to Manager.
* Works on special projects for supporting new software and products.
* Coordinates technical tasks to be completed with other groups.
* May be asked to perform on-call duties when required.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
