National Sales Planner- San Francisco

Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive Sales department is in charge of advertising for washingtonpost.com, Newsweek.com, Slate.com and BudgetTravelOnline.com. We are looking for a Sales Planner to join our expanding San Francisco office. This position on our Advertising Sales team will allow you to learn multiple aspects of sales and creative & client services in this evolving media, with potential for growth within the company.

 

The National Sales Planner will work closely with the national account managers. The position encompasses a variety of tasks including: helping sales representatives complete and edit RFPs, preparing for sales calls, researching and implementing sales strategy and planning. The idea candidate is a highly motivated, organized team player with a ?can-do,? flexible attitude ready to work in a fast paced environment.

 

 

Responsibilities:

? Provide general sales support to entire sales team, including offices in NY, LA, DC, SF, Detroit, Chicago, London by helping the teams prepare for sales calls, building client relations, keeping abreast of agency account, notifying team of product changes and implementing sales strategies.

? Develop a strong understanding of the brands at WPNI and become a product expert.

? In conjunction with sales team, write proposals, develop advertising campaign ideas, and optimize ad campaign results.

? Daily customer service both written and over the phone.

? Facilitating cross-company communications among various offices.

? Lead generation through strong business understanding.

? Draft territory forecasting with sales team.

? Attend industry related events.

? This position requires light traveling, most often but not limited to our regional offices in Washington, Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and London.

 

 

Requirements & Qualifications:

? B.A. in Communication/Marketing/Business.

? 2-5 years work experience, preferably with in Internet Media space.

? An interest in Internet and online advertising industries.

? Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.

? Knowledge of PC packages, including Microsoft office, MediaVisor, Atlas, and the ability to quickly learn new software .

? Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.

? A proactive, customer service solution oriented attitude.Ability to see the whole picture
