Perl/Shell Scripts Developer

A Financial Application Service Provider, located in Downtown Manhattan is looking for a couple Perl and/or Shell Scripts Developers with Unix and Sybase SQL experience to work on their Trade Support Desk. Will be writing Scripts and providing support to clients in the financial services sector. 

 

Reporting to the ASP Technical Operations Manager, must be a conscientious self-starter who can work well in an active environment with competing demands on his or her time.

Duties and Responsibilities:
*Member of a team of IT professionals responsible for maintenance and operations of mission-critical, real-time trading and risk management ASP system.
*Responsible for production support, including troubleshooting, system monitoring, answering user questions. Off-hours on-call support required.
*Development and documentation of solutions to software and operations problems using Perl/Shell scripting, SQL and other tools.
*Work closely with the Data Ops and Help Desk teams to support production processes and to ensure accurate, smooth, reliable operation of Imagine ASP.
*Participate in the upgrades/testing of the ASP software in conjunction with the Database, SysAdmin, Client Services, QA and Development teams

Requirements:
*UNIX, Sybase SQL. Strong skills in at least one of Perl or Shell scripting.
*Excellent trouble shooting and problem solving skills.
*Experience in Finance Industry strong plus.
*Experience with CA Autosys, FIX protocol, Apache, HTML, XML all pluses.
