Product Metrics Analyst

Description: Working within the Product Management organization, this position will report to the manager of the Global Product Analytics team to provide visibility into product performance for business decision support.

Responsibilities include:
- Understand the features, functionality and user experience of the eBay sites
- Understand the relationship between product and business results, including key performance indicators and success metrics
- Develop, test validate and maintain recurring metrics dashboards/reports/scorecards on eBay product performance
- Develop mechanisms for viewing and using reports and processes for distributing them
- Perform exploratory analysis/research on eBay product performance, including descriptive customer analytics (segmentation, behavior, etc.) and data mining
- Generate and clean data sets from large databases
- Prepare and present research findings to general management
- Research, innovate and propose metrics, analyses, tools or process changes to improve business management operations

Qualifications:
- Minimum 1-3 years experience in metrics reporting or other analytical work
- Excellent analytical and problem structuring and solving skills
- Experience with metrics report development, preferably for e-commerce Web sites. Knowledge of or experience with Web site metrics concepts, such as page views, click-throughs, etc.
- Working experience with relational databases, data warehouse concepts and handling large data sets and analyses
- Proficient in and have working experience with ANSI standard SQL
- Programming experience using Visual Basic, VBA, Perl, Cold Fusion or Java
- Proficient and experienced with analyzing and presenting data in Excel - charting, pivot tables, advanced formulas, etc.
- Knowledge of basic statistical concepts such as correlation, regression, confidence intervals, etc.
- Knowledge of basic marketing concepts such as customer segmentation, customer behavioral patterns, customer acquisition, etc.
- Self-starter, able to learn and work independently with minimal supervision
- Team player willing and able to communicate actively within team and with colleagues in other groups Experience preferred with Business Objects, ColdFusion, MicroStrategy, Teradata, and/or SiteCatalyst
