Risk Management - Architect

 

The risk management architect will be responsible for diagramming and documenting the current systems architecture as a living document.  It is critically important to understand and describe component dependencies along with interactions between our systems and those of our partners and customers.   The ideal candidate must be result-oriented, have strong technical aptitude and project management skills and have a solid understanding of business drivers around implementing change into a production environment. This position requires substantial communication and interpersonal skills along with the ability to interact and collaborate with other IT teams.  The most challenging aspect of this position will be developing a flexible, but analytical methodology for representing and predicting the behavior of our applications.

 

Responsibilities:

? Engage with other IT teams including development, quality assurance, operations, application support, engineering and project management office to understand current and future architectural design. 

? Responsible for  diagramming and documenting the overall system architecture and component dependencies.  The model will serve to quantify the risk of making a change to one or many component(s). 

? Diagram must clearly identify all single points of failure and assist in identifying the risk of making changes, and the downstream affects, to the production environment.

? Represent Risk Management in the evaluation of strategic products and solutions and communicate findings to executive management.

? Define and maintain process and procedures standards needed to ensure risk assessment can be calculated for each major change

? Review projects and help determine priority and risk and ensure projects are successfully implemented in the production environment.

? Disaster Recovery process development and documentation

? Disaster Recovery facilitation during both a DR exercise and in an actual situation

? Develop an implementation plan that includes a detailed timeline of deployment events as well as checkpoint and validation events 

Requirements:

? Seven or more years of proven technical leadership experience and skills in technical analysis and implementation of enterprise software solutions

? Internet e-commerce background required

? Working knowledge Unix/Linux high availability environment

? In-depth technical knowledge and professional experience with Linux (RedHat Enterprise Linux), web applications such as Apache, Weblogic and JBoss.

? Demonstrate problem solving abilities and initiatives

? Strong knowledge of networking as it relates to systems and application management

? Excellent written and verbal skills, and a proven record of professional interaction with internal and external customers and vendors

? Proven technical skills in analysis and design of complex, dynamic systems

? Proven ability to present to and interact with customers, displaying confidence and the expertise to make product decisions, to develop project plans, and to meet project deadlines

? Four or more years of system modeling and strong design skills

? Two or more years of consulting or direct customer interface experience

? Effective written and verbal communication skills required

? BS in Computer Science preferred or equivalent experience
