The Family Tree Maker team is looking for a SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER - Family Tree Maker with 5 to 10 years experience in the industry building desktop application with web integration using object oriented languages.  Additionally, the team is looking for an engineer with printing and charting development experience.



 

Job Description:

Family Tree Maker is the #1-selling family tree software on the market and provides users with everything they need to grow family trees from the ground up.  As part of the continuing development efforts on this product, the Family Tree Maker team is looking for an individual to focus primarily on the publication of reports and chart.  This position will require the candidate to be able to work with the product and design team to define requirements, design the printing sub-system architecture, evaluate and make recommendations for 3rd party software libraries and tools; all while working in an agile team oriented development environment.

 

Experience and Skills:

This position requires knowledge and experience in many different disciplines:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a reputed college / university with a minimum of 5 years of related experience or equivalent.5 or more years of software development experience including C++, C#, and .NET technologies.Experience and expertise in Microsoft Windows development on XP using Microsoft Visual StudioExperience and expertise in application UI design and architecture (particularly for consumer products) Experience writing automated unit testing using NUnit, JUnit or similar technologiesBreadth and depth of technical experience in working on n-Tier architected solutionsExperience in writing printing and charting solutions for consumer productsLeading and working with cross-functional teams as well as practical experience in all phases of an agile software development lifecycle.3rd party/partner library and tool evaluation and management experience is desired. Ability to work seamlessly with remote teams is also desired.Passion for team building and mentoring other team members Self motivated and self directing
