The Senior Manager, Artist Community will be responsible for managing membership programs and communications within a new branded community for artists and photographers. This community will support and is supported by a consumer marketplace for original works and reproductions of works created by member artists. The position?s focus is the creation and ongoing management of a vibrant, dynamic web-based environment for artists and photographers to interact, share ideas, draw upon valuable resources, and learn how to reach and market effectively to art enthusiasts and customers from around the world.

 

Responsibilities

 

?  Lead and manage all interactive community features and tools ? including forums, groups, live chats, blogs.

o Drive member participation by building rapport and inspiring evangelism and enthusiasm within the artist community

o Define and provide a consistent ?voice? for the company in all community communications

o Manage new artist relationships while guiding existing artists in methods to improve the retail performance of their works of art

o Develop new community features to further promote member engagement and retention

 

?  Manage membership and subscription programs for artists

o Provide oversight of member services and artist support reps

o Ensure timely communication and problem resolution for member sign-ups, approvals, royalty reporting and other operational issues as they arise

o Create and manage ongoing communication programs for member artists

Requirements

 

?  2-3+ years of recent experience building or managing an online community required

?  8-10+ years of experience; supervisory experience preferred

?  Excellent written and verbal communication skills

?  Proven ability to manage and drive projects independently

?  Internet expertise and familiarity with online retail

?  Ability to mix and balance artistic sensitivities with the realities of business

?  Professional or personal experience in fine art a plus

?  Undergraduate degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus
