SR. MANAGER, PRODUCT MARKETING

The Senior Manager, Product Marketing will lead the strategy and execution of product positioning (including branding and merchandising); online and offline awareness; and acquisition/retention marketing initiatives for an online consumer marketplace dedicated to original art and other works (such as prints) from emerging artists. This individual will create, own and manage a scalable, integrated marketing program to include online/onsite marketing, online/offsite marketing, search engine marketing, direct mail, integrated placements, promotions, PR and offline advertising. 

 

The individual will coordinate with a number of functions including brand marketing, merchandising, direct marketing, CRM marketing, international marketing, business development, PR, and outside agencies as appropriate.  In addition, the individual will work closely with product management in the definition and segmentation of the market.  Long term support for this position will include a communications/content manager and a merchandising manager.  The position reports to the VP Marketplace Operations.

 

Successful candidates must be passionate about e-commerce, emerging web technologies and community building.  Candidates must have at least four years of experience in a product marketing role in a consumer internet company or the internet division of a leading consumer product company or retailer.  Also, the candidates must have solid qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, strategic planning skills, cross-functional leadership and collaboration capabilities and strong verbal and written communication skills.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Leadership of the market research and analysis Positioning, branding and merchandising of the product based on market research Generate awareness of the product to the target market Demand generation through online and offline channels Marketing and communications plan Marketing briefs

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 4+ years experience in a product marketing role with an online company or in the online division of a consumer product company or retailer Demonstrated leadership skills Strong strategic and analytical skills Results driven, ability to initiate and lead projects Excellent written and verbal communication skills Desire to learn with an insatiable curiosity, strong problem-solving skills, creative and entrepreneurial vision Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously; with a great attention to detail, operates with urgency, focus and discipline Understanding of e-Commerce and internet business metrics strongly desired Excellent interpersonal skills; someone who is likable, a team builder and has the personality to be effective across multiple divisions Strong interest in the internet, consumer marketing and/or retail businesses MBA or advanced degree preferred; Undergraduate degree required
