Play a leading role in rapidly growing, profitable Internet company.  The Company is a leading interactive media firm with a portfolio of community-driven web properties within specific vertical markets.  Our portfolio of web destinations includes well-recognized sites within the internet services, computer programming, and computer hardware verticals.

 

As Senior Director of Product Management, you will be expected to guide the efforts of growing traffic and increasing revenue from existing properties, developing new properties, and integrating acquisitions in existing and new verticals.  You will report directly to the CEO, and you will be responsible for managing a team of graphic designers, web developers, and IT administrators.  You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality.  You must enjoy spending time in the market in order to build a critical understanding of the constituent?s needs and concerns.  And you must not be afraid to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty.

 

You will be expected to manage a product development pipeline, lead the product development process, and effectively communicate with all areas of the company.  You will specifically be expected to work with internal and external technical teams to define product requirements, collaborate during the design and build phases, and ensure that the end product delivers the expected results.  You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for the product offerings, representing the company within the online communities.  You will be responsible for identifying and evaluating acquisition opportunities and managing the integration of these properties into the overall portfolio.

 

The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience in creating, improving and promoting Internet properties, and has a knowledge of and passion for information technology (including web development, database administration, and IT administration).

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

?  Create and own the product roadmap

?  Manage the internal site maintenance team (web developers, graphic designers, IT administrators)

?  Manage the external web development partner

?  Follow, analyze, report and interpret site traffic and trends

?  Measure, analyze, report, and interpret visitor demographics and trends

?  Follow, analyze, report, and interpret market and industry trends

?  Manage the entire product development process from strategic planning to tactical activities

?  Develop and implement go-to-market plans

?  Act as the product evangelist both internally and within the online community

?  Identify and evaluate acquisition opportunities; manage the integration of these properties into the overall portfolio



QUALIFICATIONS:

?  5+ years of software or technology product management/marketing experience

?  4-year degree; preferred combination of Technology and Marketing

 

SPECIFIC SKILLS REQUIRED:

?  Demonstrated web project management experience

?  Knowledge and experience in web programming languages and open source technologies

?  Experience in writing technical specifications and driving them through development with designers and engineers

?  Data analysis skills ? drawing conclusions from raw data

?  Technical aptitude, including ability to take a hands-on role dealing with systems and/or programming issues.

?  Experience in creating and leading cross-functional teams

?  Excellent oral and written communication skills

?  Knowledge and interest in web development, database administration, and computer hardware

 



BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

?  Understanding of web-based community and/or social software offerings

?  Experience in managing remote software development projects

?  Experience in porting websites to a common technology platform

?  Experience in and knowledge of search engine optimization
