Senior E-Commerce Scalability and Systems Engineer

This senior position on the Web Engineering team will involve design, implementation, maintenance, testing, analysis, and monitoring of high transaction, scalable, robust, customer data management systems.

The ideal candidate has deep technical, leadership, and communications skills, strong e-commerce web site and database experience, a curious, tenacious nature, and enjoys a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

? Code optimization for modularity, quality, performance, and scalability
? API development to support internal client customer data access
? Database performance tuning and restructuring for time-critical transactions
? Customer data archiving, purging, and other batch operations
? Tools development, systems analysis, and monitoring
? Long term customer data scalability research and development

Skills required:
? 10+ years of relevant software development experience
? Deep object oriented programming skills (Java and/or C++)
? Substantial experience with enterprise middleware technologies
? Experience with highly parallel, multi-threaded environments
? Solid understanding of data structures and caching strategies
? High proficiency with SQL
? Database design and performance tuning experience involving large data sets under high transactional load (Oracle-specific tuning skills a plus)
? Ability to translate business goals and requirements into appropriate technical solutions
? Flexibility to shift priorities based on changing business needs
? Enjoys technical challenges and constantly strives to improve existing systems
? Self motivated, curious, responsible and flexible
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Education:

? BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent engineering experience.
