Senior Java Developer (E-Commerce)

This company is looking for developers that have worked with Subscription based E-Commerce applications.

The Internet Development and Engineering (IDE) develops Java web applications that are utilized across the various corporate web sites. IDE typically develops application functionality using Java J2EE and JDBC/SQL, integrating the application with the companies enterprise infrastructure.

Typical IDE projects are small (1-3 Developers), fast (1-6 months) and have rapidly-evolving requirements. IDE utilizes Agile Software Development techniques that emphasize delivery of functional software over extensive, comprehensive documentation. Additionally, IDE is developing a set of reusable components that are utilized across the various company Web sites.

IDE is enhancing and maintaining subscription-based e-commerce applications supporting various company properties including.

Responsibilities:
Serve as a member of a technical team developing and enhancing e-commerce applications. Work with business and marketing to understand the overall requirements. Work with Chief Engineer to ensure a consistent architecture across various systems. Ensure the overall technical quality of the applications through design and code reviews. Design, Code, Unit Test and document features utilizing Java, JDBC, Spring, Hibernate, and Struts. Integrate 3rd party components into the site (e.g., data warehousing, email campaign management).

Experience Required:
4+ years Java J2EE and or J2SE web development, 8+ years software development.
? Preference for solid understanding of subscription-based e-commerce ? e.g., offers/renewal, recurring billing.
? Extensive Java development with n-tier enterprise infrastructure integration, one or more of: authorization services, multiple integration backend APIs, messaging, web services exposure/ consumption.
? Internet development using JSP, JSTL, Java, JDBC, JUnit and SQL. Preferably some experience with Struts, Spring or Hibernate.
? Familiarity with Agile Software Development processes, i.e. SCRUM methodology; incremental development, short iterations, evolving requirements, test-driven development.
? Experience with Unix development environment ? Solaris or Linux.
? Preferably experience with Subversion, CVS, Ant, Maven, and CruiseControl for build automation and continuous integration

Additional Information:
This company is looking for candidates that are NOT DEPENDENT ON TOOLS. Understanding of SCRUM or extreme programming development methodology is a huge bonus. Understanding of J2SE (not necessarily Swing or SWT), but an understanding of how the internals of the application work (for example: threading, pooling, etc). Also, these candidates will have heavy customer end user interface so they will need to have very strong communication and interpersonal skills.
