Senior Web Designer / Creative Director
VisualMax is a boutique interactive marketing agency located in New York City. We work with leading brands and partner agencies to create web-based solutions and marketing campaigns that clearly communicate with target audiences and provide measurable results.
VisualMax is seeking a Senior Web Designer / Creative Director to help direct our design department and take our projects to an exciting and inspiring creative level. You will be responsible for leading design direction and ensuring quality of work. This position will report to the Managing Partner and work closely with the Technology Director. This position will have an important role in determining design and creative direction for the company.
Primary Responsibilities:
? User Interface/GUI design and Information Architecture
? Determining design direction and directing design team to produce superior solutions
Required Skills:
? Expert web designer with 5 to 10 years professional online experience . Superior corporate brochure, marketing micro sites and banner advertising design experience.
? Expert at concept creation based on stated business objectives, IA, user interface/functionality specification and interactive design.
? Expert knowledge and capability with Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash MX.
? Expert knowledge of how to apply XHTML, DHTML, CSS and other web UI technologies into your designs; ability to direct developers to make your concepts into reality.
? Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
? Experienced at managing and directing design teams to produce superior interactive solutions.
Plus skills (desired, but not required for the position):
? Print experience
? Experience with AJAX, Ruby on Rails, and other emerging development technologies
? Experience with PHP, .NET, MySQL, MSSQL
This is a part-time contract position on a per project basis, with the possibility of near-term fulltime employment. Must be available to deliver projects and provide direction to design team in a deadline-driven environment per approved project schedule. Remote and in-office work required.
