General Job Summary

 

Kelley Blue Book is seeking an Information Architect to join the kbb.com Product Development team and contribute to the consumer experience and future success of kbb.com. The Information Architect?s primary role is to assume responsibility for site architecture and to identify and propose actionable and effective solutions that meet the needs of our consumers, deliver on our business goals, ensure site-wide consistency and provide a foundation for future enhancements. This team member will work closely with key stakeholders and various team members to plan, design and document user experiences and functionality for kbb.com.

 

Job ResponsibilitiesUltimately accountable for making sound recommendations on the navigation, functionality, organizational structure, page-to-page flow and design of kbb.com and maintaining appropriate IA standards site wide.Translate strategy, business requirements, consumer research findings and usability/design best practices into site architecture solutions that balance the best user experience while delivering on business goals.Create and maintain ownership of information architecture artifacts such as competitive site analyses, user personas, site maps, detailed navigation flow, and detailed functional wireframes.Present recommendations and negotiate win/win solutions with project team members.Prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and produce quality work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Required Skills, Attributes & EducationA minimum of 2-3 years of information architecture experience including leading site architecture development and adaptation for an established, heavily trafficked, consumer facing web site.Thorough understanding of common web and interface conventions.Strong understanding of dynamic, data-driven web sites.Knowledge of marketing and online branding.Broad understanding of the web and associated technologies and proficiency with a range of appropriate software tools.Professional experience collaborating in a team environment on large-scale web site development projects.Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with a high level of service orientation.Strong oral and written communication skills including documentation and collaboration abilities.Comfortable taking input from a variety of people, including senior management, and developing creative solutions. Detail oriented with excellent organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Must be able to work independently and as a member of a larger team. Bachelor?s degree or equivalent.Online automotive industry experience a plus.
