Your tasks
A senior developer in the Internet Systems Development area will be responsible for systems design, coding and implementation of development projects related to a defined functional area of www.columbiahouse.com and www.columbiahousecanada.com . This could potentially include Content Production systems, Product Database systems, Commerce systems or Personalization and Recommendation systems. This individual will be required to:

Contribute to the creation of system and program designs and specifications, working within a project team under a project leader, or acting independently for small-scale systems development.
Handle multiple, simultaneous projects.
Contribute to the creation of test plans to insure system integrity; following defined Quality Assurance procedures.
Communicate with management regularly on progress of active projects, adhering to reasonable and agreed upon deadlines.
Work with database administration area to design and model new and existing databases.
Code and implement programs according to project specifications, using development coding tools and standards established by the management team of the development area.

The position will report directly to a manager of internet development.



Our requirements
The candidate must have at least 4-5 years programming experience, some of which should be internet or intranet related. Technical expertise in Java, C, C++ in a Unix environment is preferred, along with a strong relational database background. Experience with J2EE, EJB, Struts, Hybernate, Servlets, JBOSS, Resin & Weblogic. Requires undergraduate degree in a computer related field.
