Job Description
Navio is looking for a senior level Network Performance and Applications Administrator with 3-5 years of experience working in an internet commerce production support position. This is a full-time, salaried position, where the individual will spend the majority of his or her time working directly with other Operations personnel with some need to interface with our internal software engineering group. The individual should have 7+ total years of systems and internet technologies experience. The person will be responsible establishing and executing operational production profiles, procedures and processes for system monitoring, creating and conducting backup/recovery schemes, network and system integration with the rest of our mixed system environments, software application releases etc. 

The individual will need to be a proven technology leader that is able to ?hit the ground running? and integrate and deploy RH and similar Linux systems, define the network elements, monitoring and maintenance procedures, as well as be a strong generalist to be able to figure out integration and networking issues with other network devices, appliances, and our applications. We need someone who can be self-sufficient but also know when to escalate issues to our management. The position requires a combination of technical skills.

The job role calls for someone who is comfortable in building and supporting production environments for 24 x 7 consumer applications.  This includes system maintenance and application software release tasks during off peak hours.  The job role requires onsite presence at our Cupertino office.

Skills and Responsibilities:
Candidates who will be invited for interviews must have the following characteristics: Fluency in written and spoken English Prior experience with consumer web-based e-commerce sites including media or mobile entertainment industry content rich sites 4+ years of demonstrated work experience with system networking, monitoring, implementation, and administration in a 24/7 Production environment Experience with tools such as SiteScope, LoadRunner, IBM Director, Log Logic Syslog servers, PRTG/MRTG, CiscoWorks, Lifekeeper, WebTrends, enterprise tier SNMP products. Experience with highly complex implementations utilizing F5 load balancers, Cisco and Juniper Networking equipment including IDS Systems and Firewalls Experience in high volume electronic commerce or Internet production environments Experience with Apache Config including Mod Rewrite Understanding of data storage, volume management, partitioning, movement, and access of data from physical to application layers No fear of dealing with software applications utilizing XML, XSLT, JAVA, HTML, mobile oriented HTML/XML, XML databases, Apache Tomcat or other java servlet engines, etc Superb organization and follow-through skills Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills Comfort with mixed production environments including Microsoft and Linux  Willingness and ability to work odd hours when necessary Willingness to work with music, images, and videos that contain content such as would be heard or seen on HBO (for example, hip hop music lyrics) Good interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and in a team environment as needed, team cooperation, and a strong results-oriented work ethic
Additional Characteristics that would be considered a Plus: Experience with IBM based hardware and SAN storage Experience with application administration such as web servers, application servers, SMTP gateways, security devices, etc Previous experience with large scale Unix/Linux environments, dealing with high transactional processing and network traffic volumes in redundant system formats Experience in writing shell scripts Hands-on experience administrating, tuning, and maintaining Tomcat and Java servlet application servers
