Sr. Technology Manager, FP&I

Description: The Technology Manager, Financial Process and Integration, will be a member of the Chief Accounting Officer's organization and will be responsible for proactively managing Technology process, application, and system changes that impact the Company's financial statements and related disclosures. These responsibilities will include working with members of the Technology Organization, Corporate Controller's organization and the broader Technology group to identify and monitor areas of change resulting from our growth in transaction volumes, international expansion, automation of processes, software application changes, accounting integration in connection with acquisitions and other areas of change. This position will be based in San Jose and will report up through the Chief Accounting Officer organization.

The Financial Process and Integration team, is the program management organization tasked with the Company's initiatives to comply with the provisions of Section 404 of The Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 ("SOX"). This entails program oversight to assist Senior Management in their efforts to meet Company objectives around compliance with SOX. In addition to SOX, the FPI team is expected to lead the vision of leveraging controls to optimize operational benefits throughout the organization. This position will be a Corporate function expected to drive compliance activities, including coordinating resources, working with internal and external auditors, monitoring and reporting on management progress, consulting with business partners and setting policy on internal control related matters, providing training, as well as identifying opportunities for streamlining and automating processes.

Qualifications:
Candidates applying for this position must have a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with a background in the areas of technology processes, development and monitoring of internal controls, SOX 404 documentation and testing and project management, acquisition integration and systems/applications. A combination of Big Four public accounting experience with industry experience at a multi-national company is preferred. Candidates must be self-starters with a solid work ethic and strong project management skills. Candidates should also possess the following:
o Strong understanding and knowledge of IT General Computer Controls, system/application controls and processes
o effective written and verbal communication skills - including the ability to articulate progress, issues and recommendations in a concise manner;
o ability to influence the actions of others and leverage the skills of project partners;
o focus on achieving project deliverables within tight timelines;

o ability to work productively with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, Access, Visio and PowerPoint; and
o an understanding of SAP, the ability to speak multiple languages and a CISA license are not required, but are a plus.

The Company has operations all over the world. Although a significant portion of time will be spent in San Jose, California, periodic travel will be a requirement of this position.
Although not required, knowledge of eBay and PayPal operations gained through user experiences is a plus.
