Sr Web Designer - Ecommerce

We are looking for a top-notch, full-time, professional Senior Web Designer who has a passion for consumer-oriented website design and implementation and the ability to take a project through the full cycle (concept to production). In addition to a strong sense of visual design, you must have a passion for user-centered web experiences. You will be responsible for concepting, designing and building interactive web site experiences to support campaigns, business needs and development initiatives for all Eddie Bauer e-commerce web sites. Projects may involve advanced interactivity, multimedia, motion graphics or site functionality and infrastructure.

Core Accountabilities:
Propose design concepts in collaboration with an art director, customer experience team, copywriters and business sponsors.
Create sketches, storyboards, and design comps. Review with stakeholders, incorporate feedback and obtain approval.
Ensure all design solutions deliver creative strategies, meet design requirements, balance business objectives with customer needs, follow established usability best practices, and are optimized for highest performance.
Improve designs using iterative design techniques over each project?s lifecycle. Communicate changes to designs?and reasons?within project team.
Partner with engineers and IT to create functional prototypes and ensure best possible technical solutions.
Deliver assets, Flash files, and HTML and collaborate with engineering team to integrate into web site.
Prepare a detailed design specification as needed for each initiative assigned.
Design new templates for dynamic content and shopping tools. Ensure ease of use in updating templates, document functionality and usage specs...
Monitor market trends in e-eommerce content, rich media and interface design.

Education/Experience Required:
3-5 years of experience developing dynamic, interactive customer experiences in an e-commerce or other consumer-oriented business.
Strong, demonstrated understanding of innovative, user-centered interface and information design.
Thorough knowledge of web design principles and technology, and design constraints on the web.
Understanding of dynamic content and web server technology.
Excellent knowledge of optimizing web graphics and page structure for best site performance.
Excellent graphic design and typography skills.
Mastery of all essential software used in website design, including, but not limited to the Macromedia and Adobe graphics software suites. Experience in HTML. CSS, JavaScript and ActionScript a plus.
Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
Bachelor?s degree or Associates degree. Formal training or experience in design, usability, human-computer interaction and/or media production preferred.
