Systems Engineer (job code: systemseng0718) Towerstream has an immediate opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join the nation?s leader in wireless broadband service. The Systems Engineer will provide, build and maintain Towerstream various internal systems for provisioning, monitoring and channel information systems. They must have a intermediate understanding of fundamental networking technologies and be able to prioritize various tasks in a fast pace environment. They will develop code from a broad base of functional requirements and specifications. They will interact with management/vendors and should be able to effectively communicate complex issues in a clear, straightforward manner. They will interact with other departments to provide information and assistance as necessary, as well as interact with vendors for product issues. They will create and support network management and maintenance scripts. Create network Tier 1,2 and 3 system support documentation. Must have excellent verbal and written skills. The Systems Engineer is responsible for providing overall Operational Support, Troubleshooting and Maintenance of Data Infrastructure needs. Must be skilled in designing and implementing Network Management Systems in large IP networks. Looking for Industry experienced who likes hands on responsibility, is flexible and enjoys building network systems, at least 3+ years of experience related carrier class environment. Requirements: * MUST have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical discipline * 3+ years of Linux experience (Redhat, Debian) including package management/building, OS administration, and security management. * Advanced knowledge (3+ yrs) of programming/scripting languages like Perl, Linux Shell. * Advanced knowledge (3+ yrs.) of web design and web applications. (HTML, XML, CSS). * Advanced knowledge (3+ yrs.) of web application development using Coldfusion, PHP & Javascript. * Intermediate (3+ yrs.) knowledge of Cisco/Riverstone Management, IP protocols, BGP and Routing. * Advanced experience with DNS, BIND, & TFTP protocols. * Advanced (3+ yrs.) database design and maintenance (MySql, Postgres). * 3-5 years of experience in engineering, engineering support, IT, project management. * Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills (English). * Strong team player who enjoys working in a fast paced team atmosphere. * Ability to multitask and prioritize. * Programming knowledge and experience (PERL/shell scripting or Java preferable). * Knowledge of common network protocols (TCP/IP, ICMP) and tools. * Knowledge of Web programming (HTML, javascript, ASP, JSP) * Web Services (SOAP, XML) * Configuring Web servers (Apache, IIS) and the infrastructure necessary to support a dynamic website (load balancers, connecting to databases, etc) * SQL and databases * Website activity analysis tools such as WebTrends
