Usability Specialist

The ability to incorporate usability into the development of several projects, to include: Internet sites, intranet sites, extranet sites, web-based applications, and client/server applications. 

Must select and conduct appropriate user-centered design techniques throughout an iterative design process. Analyze and present user evaluation results.

Make design recommendations based on expertise and the collected data. Facilitate cross-functional teams throughout product definition, design and development processes.

Report writing, communication skills, resolutions and the ability to provide end risks results are essential.  The ability to assist with the definition and implementation of interface design guidelines and a usability process methodology is required.

Responsible for Educating business owners and developers on the importance of web site design guidelines and usability testing. Must remain current in usability related research and development.  Able to assist the Sr. Usability Specialist with complex projects. Responsible for Coordinating lab activities, such as screening evaluators, managing the observations room and ensuring efficient recap meetings and smooth transitions.

Minimum experience required is 2-4 years in a corporate or consulting environment as a Usability Specialist.

B.S. in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interface or a related field, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
