Zoom Systems is pioneering a new channel:  automated retail.  With the implementation of 40 square foot robotic stores, Zoom places the best products and brands directly in the path of consumers.

 

Zoom has identified 100,000 viable locations and is building a network of thousands of robotic stores located in high traffic locations such as airports, hotels, malls, colleges and retail.

 

Zoom?s robotic stores use technology to provide consumers simplicity, speed and easy access to products.  Each store is centrally networked and monitored to ensure a high level of reliability and performance.  Zoom stores operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 

A Zoom robotic store is a stand alone retail store where customers purchase items via a touch-screen interface.  Consumers select products, finalize their purchase using a credit card/debit card and receive their product immediately via a robotic arm.

 

POSITION SPECIFICATION ? USER INTERFACE DEVELOPER

 

Zoom Systems is looking for an individual with both creative and technical expertise. This individual will assist with the creation and updating of our proprietary software preparation and content management for Zoom Systems Robotic Stores. This person will be responsible for managing necessary software changes on a daily, weekly and monthly basis that support each Zoom Robotic Store in the field. This position reports to the EVP, Merchandising.

 

He or she will be highly motivated to perform the specific position responsibilities, will be a quick study in our fast paced and ever changing environment and will become fluent in a short period of time with using the Zoom Systems custom database interface. This individual must be detail oriented and reliable, willing and ready to learn, understand and own a great deal of data and processes.

 

This individual will have fluent knowledge of a wide range of technical platforms, including Windows as well as experience with programming languages such as HTML, JavaScript and JSP and graphic design programs ? Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks.

 

A great team player, this individual will be comfortable and effective at interfacing with a key Zoom stakeholders and resources in engineering, operations and merchandising. This person will enjoy working with a team and will have excellent communication skills.

 



Responsibilities:

 

Create new concepts and configurations for deployment

? Prepare configuration files and folders based on the planograms

? Test on local machine to make sure the configurations work

? Enter new products into the database

? Create and register the zipped configuration files to database

? Create e-Groups and schedule the files for the e-Groups

? Set up a new ?EStation? (kiosk) on eCenter (database)

? Input Max Stock Level for the inventory report

 

 Manage and update the existing robotic stores

? Work closely with Merchandising, Operations and Engineering for any updates, such as Min/Max stock level, products, images, descriptions, prices, tax rates, communications, and receipts, for all of the units

 

 Merchandise Analysis

? He/She will be responsible for identifying problems, challenges and opportunities and working with the team to resolve quickly.

 

Requirements:

 

? In depth understanding of PC, Windows platforms (Microsoft Windows 98/NT/2000/XP) and internet

? Experience with web applications and/or graphic user interfaces

? Strong technical skills

? Some exposure to programming languages such as HTML, JavaScript, JSP.

? Some exposure to graphic design programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks.

? Attention to detail, excellent organization and multi-tasking abilities

? Self-motivated with a desire to contribute

? Great interpersonal skills and attitude

? Possess a ?can do? attitude and be a integral team player

? Previous experience managing, BOM, Pricing, Datasheets is a plus.

? Requires a BS in Computer Science or equivalent degree
