Vice President- Merchandising

Our client is a well-recognized, publicly traded multi-channel retailer of consumer products, growing at a significant pace.  A key driver of this growth has been the investment in marketing and merchandising. The company is seeking an exceptional merchandising executive who will be charged with leading a team of over 8 professionals to drive an integrated message throughout all elements of merchandising mix. 

 

Responsibilities include:

 

?  Set the strategy and lead the new product development process, as well as overall merchandising management for our floral and plant categories to deliver/exceed budgeted revenue, profit gross margins and EBITDA.

?  Maximize profit and revenue return through optimization of merchandising on the website and on the phone. 

?  Lead the Merchandising Operations and Planning and Central Procurement organizations to support inventory management, merchandising processes, purchasing and new product launches.

?  Continuously develop creative products, merchandising concepts to upsell customers and to drive purchase frequency and Average Order Value.

?  Lead cross-functionally, business processes to improve quality.

 

The successful candidate will have a total of 10-15 years of multi-channel merchandising experience, with a background in consumer products, coupled with significant accomplishments in retail/e-commerce merchandising.  The individual must have strong strategic and analytical skills.  Additionally, the incumbent to this position must be very results-oriented, with the capacity to juggle many divergent demands in a fast-paced environment.  He/she will have the ability to think out-of-the box and inspire others to push the envelope of their thinking.  The selected candidate will also have strong visual and brand intuition, the ability to balance creative vision with pragmatic execution.
