Web Content Manager

This position is responsible for managing the timeliness, appropriateness, and effectiveness of content on the HIMSS Web site and related microsites.  Ensures that Web content is regularly reviewed and updated. Assesses the My eHIMSS portal currency, relevancy, and linkages by key words to key search and retrieval functions of the portal.  Vets all content prior to posting, and ensure HIMSS? and My eHIMSS? standards are met.  Manages a systematic content review process for all HIMSS Web sites to ensure currency, relevancy, effectiveness, and adherence to corporate editorial style.  Works with product/content owners to update Web content as necessary.  Ensures appropriate permissions are sought and acquired for reproduced content.  Ensures that My eHIMSS content is appropriately linked to key words and earmarked to be pushed to members requesting the designated content.  Works with Marketing and Communications staff to promote My eHIMSS to members, the media, and appropriate audiences.  Handles permission requests for all HIMSS web content.  Provides backup support for Web designers for the development of e-newsletters and other electronic content

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a consistent record of professional and personal achievement.  Ideal candidates would possess the following qualifications:  Bachelor?s degree in Communications, Journalism, or equivalent experience; a minimum of five years of editorial and Web content experience; strong copyediting skills; ability to edit documents so that they conform to HIMSS and My eHIMSS style and Web standards; excellent written and verbal communication skills; HTML and Web content management experience; knowledge of Web applications; excellent document management and organizational skills; and strong interpersonal skills.  A background or knowledge in healthcare and/or information technology is preferred.  Association experience preferred.
