Position Description #CC53196 Web Developer (Level 2)

Our client's Smart Personal Objects team is looking for a talented web development engineer to work in one of their most innovative groups. The Smart Personal Objects team has created the DirectBand wireless datacast network and the MSN Direct service. DirectBand delivers information to wristwatches and weather stations in the United States and Canada, and will soon deliver location-based services to GPS navigation devices. In this role you will work on the group's customer facing website, network operations website, and SOAP-based web services for OEMs and retail partners.

Your responsibilities will include: the development of new web sites; maintenance and extension of existing web-based services and applications; working closely with the design group and management to ensure the best experience for web site customers; infrastructure work, including design and implementation of database support for the new product; interfacing with the billing API. You must be able to work in a fast paced environment that may require working on multiple issues simultaneously. You must be able to communicate effectively across functional group boundaries and be able to quickly switch gears in response to unexpected events and circumstances.

A successful candidate will have strong development and debugging skills; strong knowledge of C#, Transact SQL, HTML, ASP.NET and JavaScript in the IIS/Server environment; previous development experience on a production web site; and excellent communication skills. A BS degree in Computer Science and 2+ years of development experience is required. Experience with SQL Server, database architecture, design, optimization and troubleshooting is a plus.
