WEB PRESENTATION LAYER DEVELOPER

 

The Web Presentation Developer provides the lead technical programming skills and development abilities for creation and maintenance of VEGAS.com?s websites consistent with defined web strategies. This position requires the knowledge, abilities and skills to analyze, plan, develop, implement, coordinate and complete specific programming assignments. You will work closely with Marketing, Content, Product management, User Interface, Software Development, and Quality Assurance. You primary focus will be integration and extended out content management product. You must have experience designing and testing web/e-commerce products, websites, database integration, documentation of systems and projects, knowledge of HTML, CSS, DHTML, JavaScript, and XSL.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

?  Write code to enable functionality on our websites and web-based applications (HTML, XHTML, CSS, XSL, DHTML, JavaScript)

?  Work with developers, system engineers, and QA engineers throughout the product development, testing, and implementation phases to ensure product integrity

?  Create HTML frameworks based on mockups from the user interface design team.

?  Create, edit, and manage web templates within our content management system

?  Create and manage our directory structure for our content management system

?  Proactively develop ideas on how we can improve our content management system

?  Follow coding and layout standards co-developed by user interface designers and software engineers.

?  Stay current on technical advancements and suggest ways to streamline tasks and processes for efficiency.

?  Must have a good understanding of user interface standards, limitations, and technologies

?  Must excel in a fast-paced, interactive cross-functional team environment

?  Must have clear oral and written communication skills

?  Must be able to work with both technical and non-technical individuals, in gathering information and communicating status

 

The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:

 

?  Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.

?  Minimum 2 years experience with HTML, XSL, XSLT, JavaScript, and CSS

?  Experience in a web development environment.

?  Experience with large websites managed within a Content Management System preferred

?  Solid understanding of modern product development processes preferred.

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the following computer software and programs:

 

?  Understanding of cross platform client side web programming issues (IE versus Netscape, PC versus Mac) is required.

?  Must have a good understanding of user interface standards, limitations, and technologies

?  Must be able to code HTML, XHTML, CSS, XSL, JavaScript

?  Microsoft Office (most current versions)
