Job Description
The Web Programmer / Client Support Manager - once trained in the Venda platform and the unique Venda data driven HTML tag technology - will become a Web expert in support of eCommerce site design, implementation, training clients, site support and sales. As part of the Client Support Team, this web specialist will use his or her HTML programming background to provide expertise and solutions for our clients during project implementation, training and after launch.
The Client Support Team consists of people who bring varying business and technical expertise and skills to the team, creating a multi-talented team of client-facing experts. This role is critical to the successful deployment of online shopping sites for our retailing clients, their ability to support themselves and their continued client satisfaction.
Responsibilities of the Web Programmer & Trainer fall into two main categories:
1. Web Specialist (60%)
Providing expertise in web site development (HTML, CSS, dynamically generated templates, page building, JavaScript) and technical support when needed. Tasks and activities include:
? Liaison between Clients, Account Managers, Project Managers, and HTML Development Teams to ensure efficient and consistent development approaches to HTML based requirements.
? Identify and execute minor tag and coding changes for existing web pages.
? Identify and coordinate the tagging and coding changes for larger web page modifications through internal web development teams.
? Provide Help Desk Support for internal and external clients on HTML / Tagging questions & issues.
? Assist Project Managers and Technical Project Managers in the ?solutioning? of complex web-based business requirements.
? Perform Web Page optimization testing and diagnostics for internally developed web pages.
? Provides product knowledge and help desk support for live Venda Clients.
? Troubleshoots, evaluates and prioritizes requests and issues from Clients.
? Documents timely updates to Venda Knowledge Base based on client interactions and platform modifications.
2. Training & Supporting Clients on Venda Tags (40%)
Becoming an expert on Venda front-end functionality and ?Venda tag? html methodology:
? Designs and manages training program for Client?s HTML programmers
? Conducts training for Clients in Venda tags.
? Participates in peer-training and cross-training initiatives within the company.
Experience / Skills Required
? 3-5 years strong programming experience in HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
? Working knowledge of DHTML or tag-based programming (e.g. ColdFusion, ATG Dynamo, Broadvision, etc) a plus.
? Ability to troubleshoot customer problems at point of contact and obtain a detailed level of information for 2nd level support as needed.
? Ability to quickly learn, document, and support new tagging languages, platforms and platform functionalities.
? Extremely organized, diligent, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with ability to effectively manage multiple projects or activities.
? Analytical problem-solving skills.
? Excellent client service skills and demonstrated team player.
? Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
? Ability to maintain a high performance level in a fast-paced and intense environment; Willing to work hard and put extra effort to meet deadlines and exceed client and management expectations; Able to work extended hours when needed to help meet project deadlines.
? Employee must be willing to travel once to London and once to Bangkok for initial training and 2-4 days per month in the US to client sites when needed.
? Degree (4yr or 2yr) strongly preferred.
Referrals - At least 2 referrals for positions held within the last 5 years will be required.
This position will report be based in the Venda?s headquarters at 360 Madison Avenue (45th Street) in New York City. Regular office hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm and off-hour work may be required in the normal course of projects and heightened activity. On-the-job training related to Venda products and services is provided.
