Web Site Designer

The Senior Designer will help create, develop, and maintain designs for new and existing Web sites. This includes design of web graphics for online content, including special features, and development of functional user interfaces. He/she must be able to exhibit ability to design innovative and user-focused solutions, while being accustomed to working within style guidelines to meet brand objectives. This position requires a strong design background with experience in user interface design and must be able to follow a project from initial concept through final execution, including the production of final artwork for web production. RESPONSIBILITIES Work closely with Creative Services Project/Product Management, Marketing & Merchandising, Sales & Field Development, and International while collaborating with members of technical and editorial teams. Must have the ability to take direction, and manage projects with little oversight. Must also meet stringent deadlines, while having the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. · Contribute to the design and user interface for the suite of sites · Provide direction for "look and feel" of key site areas while working in close teamwork with the print Art Directors to maintain design integrity and consistency from print to web. · Participate in user validations and usability studies of existing properties as well as new concepts, designs, and prototypes. · Create page treatments and feature prototypes for validations and usability studies. · Participate in project meetings with product teams as needed; work with development teams to implement and refine page design and UI per technical constraints. · Produce real-world final design specifications for page design and flow. · Be an advocate for design and UI issues throughout engineering and QA phases of development.All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be authorized to work in the United States. Qualifications :
B.A. degree and 5+ years professional experience in graphic design, user interface design, information design or a closely related field. · Demonstrated skills in graphic design for consumer e-commerce web sites and UI design and documentation at a senior level in a team dynamic. · Should be an expert in all the tools of the graphic design, prototyping and HTML page creation, including: · Photoshop · ImageReady/Fireworks · Illustrator · DreamWeaver · Visio · Macromedia Flash · Working knowledge of CSS and hand coding HTML · Understanding of screen/graphics resolution, image compression, typography and advertising communication/design techniques. · Firm understanding of HTML production and its limitations. · Experience in a PC platform environment required.
