Civil Investigator/Fraud Investigator

FSA is seeking an experienced Law Enforcement Professional to join our team! FSA's, US Department of Justice Asset Forfeiture Support Program contract has an immediate opening for a Civil Investigator. Ideal candidates will have been exposed to investigative duties in a Law Enforcement environment. Experience with financial investigations, money laundering, fraud, white-collar crimes and general accounting practices preferred. Applicatns in the past have included former police officers, detectives and federal law enforcement agents. Experience in federal law enforcement desired.

Responsibilities include:

Civil Investigator
GENERAL
Provides professional investigations and collateral coverage to clarify and/or verify facts alleged in petitions for remission of mitigation of forfeiture, or similar civil matters.

DUTIES
Plans, conducts and carries to completion investigations of the DEA by:
?Researching public records in search of assets
?Conducting complex investigations typically involving one or more persons with a large number of primary and secondary activities or assets
?Developing information regarding business ties to the subject of the investigation; i.e., confirm the legality of the business, names of partners, shareholders, or board members etc.
?Preparing accurate, concise and timely reports of investigations, including reference reports; being able to assemble, correlate, and analyze facts obtained during the investigation
?Preparing detailed charts and schedules
?Testifying in cases as required in court proceeding and other phases of the judicial process
?Extensive research in asset forfeiture related matters
?Extensive usage of databases, presentation software and other software


?A minimum of four years experience in law enforcement or related investigative exposure
?High School Diploma, an Undergraduate Degree is preferred
?Must possess a valid driver?s license
?Foreign language skills preferred.
?This position requires a ten- year background investigation, drug test and credit check.
