Director, Security - Credit Union

Pentagon Federal Credit Union is a $9 billion full service credit union with a strong track record of steady growth, safety and soundness since our founding in 1935.  We serve more than 700,000 members of the Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, VFW, Dept of Defense, Dept of Homeland Security, their families, and many others around the world.

 

Our director of financial and physical security is retiring this fall and we need to replace him!

 

Responsibilities:

 Develop and maintain best practices to guard against and reduce financial fraud and crimes against PFCU, its members and employees.  This includes credit and credit card fraud, check kiting, identity theft, loan fraud, forgery of official documents, robbery, etc. Develop and maintain active liaisons with local, regional and federal law enforcement agencies and with business partners such as Visa and MasterCard to assist in the investigation and resolution of criminal activities.  Respond to requests for Bank Secrecy Act information from law enforcement agencies.  File appropriate reporting forms with state, local and federal agencies. Interact with insurance vendors and assist with negotiation of contracts and claims Manage building security for corporate HQ, branches and data centers Maintain and update Disaster Recovery program to protect assets and employees

 

Requirements

 Bachelor's degree in related field or degree plus sufficient related work experience that provides the necessary skills and knowledge to perform the job.  An advanced degree in a related field is preferred. 7+ years progressively more responsible work experience in the field of security management in a federal, state or local agency, or in a financial institution Experience conducting investigations Supervisory experience preferred
