Facility Security Office-Assistant

Job Scope
This position performs work in the administration of U.S. Government contracts for MRI in conjunction with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual and other related governmental regulations. Assists the Facility Security Officer by performing tasks in support of these respective programs. Communicates with MRI personnel to determine and meet employee security clearance requirements, and works closely with various government agencies and departments to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the clearance process. Assist with providing security education briefings. Provide guidance, analyze, and interpret government security classification guides and determine security requirements. Assist in the investigation of security violations and infractions involving classified information. This position requires a general administrative understanding of the NISPOM as it relates to Home Office Facilities and a familiarity with Government Contracting. The key challenges in this position involve contending with frequently changing priorities and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of administrative, technical, and professional staff.

Job Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in administering government security programs. FSO certification preferred, COMSEC Custodian certification, and a TS SCI clearance required. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal staff and external clients. Possess strong interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills with the ability to work in a team-based environment. Proficient with Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel etc) and general computer knowledge and skills. Familiar with Government Contracting and the unique skill set environment. Ability to work independently and contend with frequently changing priorities and deadlines. Administrative understanding of the NISPOM as it relates to Home Office Facilities.
