ISSM/Security Professional

As the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM), the successful candidate will be responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of the facility's classified Information Systems (IS) in accordance with  the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Industrial Security Letters (ISL), and customer directives.

Under limited supervision, the ISSM will establish and document Standard Security Procedures (SSP) and  system specific Protection Profiles (PP),  coordinate with Program Managers / ITS professional staff / government agencies on new system compliance; obtain formal certification and accreditation for all classified IS; configure & implement  auditing and other security-relevant features; maintain a compliant configuration management program; report, investigate and conduct remediation for computer security incidents,  train and monitor ISSOs and system users.

 

Duties will also include but are not limited to responsibility for: developing and maintaining a security education program for employees and onsite contractors;  the company's domestic and foreign travel security program for employees, including development and maintenance of Contractor Visitor Group Security Agreements; International visitor control program including development of, and monitoring compliance with, Facility Technology Control Plans (TCP); restricted and prohibited item program, and other duties as assigned by the FSO/Security Manager.

 

Bachelor?s Degree plus experience as an ISSM, successful completion of the Defense Security Service (DSS) Academy's "NISPOM Chapter 8 Requirements for Industry" training course IS201.01, and a working knowledge of auditing features of the Windows 2000, NT, and XP Operating Systems is required.  Prior successful completion of the DSS Academy's "Essentials of Industrial Security Management", "Protecting Secret and Confidential Documents" courses is required.  Familiarity with LINUX, UNIX and/or Tru-64 is a plus.

 

 Proficiency with desktop computing platforms (PC) and applications (MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).  Experience with the SATT program is a plus.  Requires ability to work in a self-directed, multi-tasking, fast-pace work environment. Strong organization skills and time management proficiency.  Excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

 A minimum DoD clearance level eligibility of Secret with a NAC/LAC/CR investigation current within the last five years is required. Upgrade to TS with SSBI will be necessary.
