Loss Prevention Specialist

Essential Functions:<br><br>

Principal Accountabilities & Authority:<br>
Assist in maintaining company shortage reduction programs<br>
Investigate visitor and associate accidents and ensure all required reports are Communicate theft exposure and safety hazards to the Loss Prevention Supervisor.<br>
Detect and apprehend individuals responsible for theft or destruction of company property.<br>
Prepare written case reports regarding detentions and any other significant occurrences.<br>
Monitor compliance to established policies and procedures.<br>
Communicate non-compliance to Loss Prevention Supervisor<br>
Ensure adequate physical security standards are maintained.  Alarm system, key control, access control, CCTV system, etc.<br>
Perform all tasks within the guidelines described in the Loss Prevention and Safety/Risk Management Manuals.<br>
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, management, vendors and law enforcement agencies.<br>
Other duties as assigned.<br><br>

Qualifications:<br><br>

Education:<br>
High School diploma or general education degree (GED)<br><br>


Experience:<br>
Years of relevant general experience:  0 required / 1-2 preferred<br>
Years of relevant specialized experience: 0 required / 1 preferred<br>
Credentials, licenses or certifications: None required / Standard First Aid, Basic Security preferred<br>
Required knowledge relevant to position:  Basic Security Procedures, Safety Aware<br>
Technology experience relevant to positions:  Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, etc.<br><br>


Physical Activity:<br>
Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time.<br>
Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances.<br>
Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work. Those activities, which demand detailed or important instructions spoken to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.<br>
Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds with no less than a 40-db loss.  Ability to receive oral communication and make fine discriminations in sound.<br><br>
 

Visual Demands:<br>
Operators: This is a minimum standard for those whose job requires work done at close visual range. (i.e. preparing and analyzing data and figures, clerical and administrative functions, accounting, computer terminal use, extensive reading, visual inspection, operation of machines, using measurement devices, assembly or fabrication of parts.<br><br>


Physical Requirements:<br>
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.<br><br>


Conditions:<br> 
Individual is subject to inside work conditions with varying climates due to distribution conditions.<br>
Individual is subject to minimal exterior work conditions with varying climate due to exterior patrolling activities.<br>
Individual is subject to excessive noise conditions in distribution.<br>
Individual is subject to distribution hazards such as: spills, lose objects, moving machinery, motorized distribution equipment, etc.<br><br>
