Job Description: TITLE: Loss Prevention Investigator
LOCATION: JCPenney Distribution Furniture Warehouse - Langhorne, PA
PAY BAND: Management
HOURS: 7am - 3:30pm
DAYS: MONDAY - FRIDAY / OVERTIME & WEEKENDS AS NEEDED

I. BASIC FUNCTION:

Implements and ensures compliance with loss prevention programs to protect the DFW (Distribution Furniture Warehouse), their personnel, and company assets from actual or potential losses or injuries and maintain the image of a service oriented department.

II. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Implements an investigatory program, responding to all violations of safety, security and fire prevention procedures, accidents, credit fraud, internal and external theft and various types of white collar crime. Audits compliance with Company procedures and methods. Maintains investigative records and reports.

2.Collects information as needed to protect Company interests.

3.Implements or assists with various loss prevention programs, such as: Fire Prevention, Safety, Emergency Plans, Information Technology Security, Contract Security and Personnel Security.

4.Develops and/or encourages effective liaison with Federal, State and Local law enforcement agencies to complement overall loss prevention functions and programs.

5.Assists in developing procedures and/or recommendations to ensure the most effective loss prevention program within Company guidelines.

III. KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

1.Maintains a close working relationship with all departments within the facility to ensure proper administration of loss prevention programs.

2.Maintains a working relationship with various law enforcement and other government agencies.

3.Cooperates with and assists other JCPenney units such as Stores, Regional Logistics Centers, Catalog Customer Service Centers, BankCard Review and JCPenney Direct in conducting investigations and implementing effective loss prevention programs.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:


Education: College degree, preferably with a background in loss prevention, or equivalent business experience.


Experience: Prefer loss prevention or public law enforcement experience.


Specialized: Investigative and some persuasive skills are required.

KEY CHALLENGES

1.Utilizing effective investigative, interviewing and interrogation techniques in all loss prevention assignments, while promoting the image of a service department.

2.Becoming experienced and knowledgeable in all investigative, safety, fire prevention and security aspects of the loss prevention responsibility.

RECOMMENDATIONS

1.Fire, Safety, and Security procedures, methods, and practices within the framework of in-depth Loss Prevention Programs.

2.Implementation and revision of procedures, including operational procedures, to improve security.

3.Installation of physical protection devices and techniques.

4.Changes in structure of the security force.
