Mobile Patrol Officer-Armed and Unarmed

Position: Armed and Unarmed Mobile Patrol Officers



Description: Performs patrol operations and operates a vehicle to project a security presence, perform inspections, and/or respond to incidents in the Downtown Portland Metro area.

Duties include:

Operates a vehicle

Performs inspections

Responds to incidents

Radio usage, phone communications

Checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, security violations, inspects buidlings

Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of emergencies, accidents, etc.

Prepares logs or reports as required for patrol route, writes or types reports using a computer.

Observes and reports incidents

Carries out specific tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required.



Job specifications: Excellent driving record, able to pass an extensive background check, Armed DPSST certified.



Starting wage: $10.50-$11.00 DOE



Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or GED; related experience preferred.



Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing):

Must able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municpal licensing requirements for Security Officers.

Driving record must meet company and/or insurance standards.

Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures.

Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.

Ability to be an effective team member.

Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.

Courteous telephone and radio manner.

Ability to adapt to changes in the external environment and organization.

Good organizational skills.

Ability to provide high quality customer service.

Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various social levels and across diverse cultures.

Maintain composure when dealing with authorities, executives, clients, staff and the public, occasionally under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.

May be exposed to stressful situations, such as challenging individuals who are in or approaching an unauthorized area.

May be required to work overtime without advance notice.

Keyboarding, basic computer usage and operating controls.
