Night Desk Manager

American Campus Communities, the nation's premier student housing company, is seeking a Night Desk Manager.  This position is under the direct supervision of the General Manager and is responsible for coordinating the nightly desk activities, including monitoring incoming guests, handling resident issues such as work orders, checking out of equipment, routine customer service questions.

Responsibilities:


Manage third party vendors in accordance with property policy


Complete all paperwork legibly and in a timely manner.


Be familiar with property's after-hours communication protocol and check the communication log at the start of each shift. 


Monitor security cameras and respond appropriately.


Monitor resident access to common areas


Understand property's emergency contact protocol and know when to contact maintenance staff, Community Assistant staff, On-Call Professional staff, Denver Police and Fire when necessary and appropriate.


Perform regular late night rounds. 


Possess general knowledge about The Metro State College of Denver and the City of Denver. 


Understand, communicate, enforce, and follow all College and property's rules, regulations, policies and procedures.


Assist on-call staff in resolving conflicts and respond to inappropriate behavior as needed. 


Foster a positive, cooperative and comfortable environment for residents.


Maintain high standards in behavior and attitude. 
Work cooperatively with the building staff team. 


Participate in mandatory training and in-services.

High School diploma required plus two years of customer service experience

 Good working knowledge of security operations and safety practices in a business environment 


Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with residents and the public, to understand and follow standard operating procedures, to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance, to write and investigate required reports; and to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures.

 

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of all Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint.
