Security Guards

Job Description: This position maintains safe and secure Auction grounds, buildings and vehicles by guarding all Auction property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry.

Job Responsibilities: Patrol auction property periodically, checking all buildings, grounds, vehicles and parking lots.? Watch for and report irregularities, such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.Examine doors, windows, fences and gates for unauthorized entry and make sure they are secure.? Inspect vehicles, equipment and machinery for tampering.Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehend, or expel violators if necessary.Observe and search if necessary departing Auction personnel to guard against theft of company property.? Periodically check transported vehicles as situation warrants.Notify police and/or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons.? Permit authorized person's to enter property.Complete daily security report summarizing all occurrences.? Record data and prepare incident reports in case of employee's relations' incidents, property damage, unusual occurrences and/or malfunctioning equipment or machinery.Regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic at the Auction entrance or on premises to maintain orderly traffic flow.Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor, i.e., scan and receive cars, ensure vehicles exiting are authorized.May be required to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) as business needs dictate.

Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferred.6 months to 3 years work experience in the security field.Valid TX driver's license.? Effective communication skills required.Ability to interact with customers and employees.Must possess good problem-solving and organizational skills.

Physical Demands:Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear.Frequently required to stoop, crouch and climb.Ability to exert force up to 20 pounds.Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:Regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions.Moderate noise level.
