The Idaho National Laboratory is looking for a Safeguards and Security Protective Force Manager/Lead
Responsibilities:Lead and manage the Idaho National Lab Protective Force, approximately 300 personnel, in its mission to protect Category I-IV quantities of Special Nuclear Material, other nuclear material, e.g., nuclear waste, classified and other sensitive matter, physical and intellectual property, and personnel against the adversarial numbers and capabilities defined in the US Department Of Energy Design Basis Threat Policy. Deploy the Idaho National Lab Protective Force in a cost effective manner. Provide leadership, direction, and integration for the Protective Force program. Work as a positive force for change within the Protective Force for various organizational functions: Pro Force Operations, Manager, Security Officers, Security Police Officers II and III, lieutenants, Captains, Area foremen; Special Response Team and Special Response Team manager; Pro Force Training Manager, trainers, and the Pro Force Live Fire Range Complex, Logistics Officers, Armorers, Protective Force safety staff, and administrative personnel. Align protective force functions so they are effective, efficient, and safe. Ensure protective force personnel are adequately trained and that the training is reflected in every day actions. Institute tactics and field equipment capable of defeating adversary capabilities in accordance with the Department Of Energy design basis threat policy. Ensure that protective force management/supervision functions as a team through various forums e.g., plan of the day. Includes the protective force Environmental Safety & Health manager as a member of the management team and ensure the integration of the safety staff and safety goals into the every day functions of the protective force. Responsible for aligning protective force functions and structure in an effective, efficient, and safe manner. Supports work-for-others projects to include sensitive National and Homeland Security projects. Develop and administer the Idaho National Lab Protective Force annual budget of approximately $41M.
Qualifications:Lead the protective force organization so it is successful in meeting the Idaho National Lab mission, vision, and strategy as established by the Laboratory Director, Facility &Site Services Director, and the Safeguards and Security Director and as defined in company strategic and business plans. Ensure protective force management and supervision are aligned with Idaho National Lab mission, vision, and strategy. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with Department Of Energy counterparts and internal customers. Baccalaureate & 10 years experience, or Advanced degree & 8 years experience. THIS POSITION REQUIRES HUMAN RELIABILITY PROGRAM CERTIFICATION. In order to be eligible for employment in this position, individuals must currently meet, and continue to meet, all the qualifications of trustworthiness, reliability, and sound judgement stated in MCP-306 and DOE Directive 470.4-5, Chapter V.
In this position you must be able to obtain and maintain a "Q" level clearance.
