Summary:

 This position will provide legal support and case management activities to the Corporate Transactions group within the Office of General Counsel. The Corporate Transactions group consists of an Assistant General Counsel and four Senior Counsels practicing in the areas of general corporate, contracts, real estate, intellectual property, licensing, anti-trust.

Responsibilities:

 The legal assistant's responsibilities will include but not be limited to case management; internet legal research including use of Lexis-Nexis; initial review of standard contract language; writing memoranda; file maintenance; preparation of correspondence; assistance with managing client requests for advice; frequent interaction with client groups; and coordination of special projects. The case management function involves oversight of the daily handling and administration of all corporate matters overseen by the attorneys. The legal assistant is responsible for updating and maintaining an online database of all matters and interfacing with the attorneys, outside law firms, and the clients to assist with gathering and managing documents, and meeting deadlines. Candidates must have: a proven ability to manage multiple projects, online research skills, a high degree of organization, and excellent oral and written communication skills. A successful candidate will be a self-starter and detail oriented.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree. In lieu of a degree, paralegal certification or years experience may be suitable. One year overall professional experience required. Familiarity with legal/court proceedings is strongly preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated problem solving skills are a must as well as a proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint software packages.
