Summary:

 This position will provide legal research and support activities to the Labor, Employment and Corporate Policies group within the Office of General Counsel. The Labor, Employment and Corporate Policies group consists of an Assistant General Counsel and five Senior Counsels practicing in the areas of employment, labor, trust and estates, tax, and benefits law and corporate governance and compliance.

Responsibilities:

 The Senior Legal Assistant's responsibilities will include but not be limited to online legal research (legal databases and internet), researching and writing comprehensive legal memoranda, drafting substantive documents and legal pleadings, reviewing, analyzing and responding to subpoenas, file maintenance, preparation of correspondence, assistance with investigations, frequent interaction and coordination with client groups, and coordination of special projects. Must have a proven ability to manage multiple projects, extensive online research skills, a high degree of organization, and excellent oral and written communication skills. A successful candidate will be a self-starter and detail oriented.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree. In lieu of a degree, paralegal certification or years experience may be suitable. Familiarity with legal/court terminology is required. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated problem solving skills are a must as well as a proficiency in LEXIS, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint software packages. One to three years overall professional experience.
