ATTORNEY - SENIOR


 


Responsibilities include providing legal support to state regulated consumer lending business.


 


Advising the Business on all aspects of federal and state consumer lending laws and regulations, particularly focusing on regulation compliance issues, including all aspects of servicing, (loss mitigation and recovery), regulatory complaints, branch questions, bankruptcy, collections and foreclosures.


 


 



1.  Requires a Juris Doctor degree.  Must be licensed to practice law and an attorney in good standing.


 


2. Attorney with a minimum of 5 years experience in law firm or corporate setting preferably in the areas of banking, corporate or consumer finance.  Strong working knowledge and experience with federal and state lending laws and banking regulations preferred.


 


3.  Organizational skills are extremely important as attorneys maintain a large workload and work with a number of different clients.  Ability to analyze and evaluate statutes and to determine their impact on the business is important to the successful performance of this position.


 


4.  Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are essential.


 


5.  Ability to work well with others in the department and in the business is essential.


 


6.  Computer skills in MS Office, including e-mail, are required.


 


7.  A self-motivated, responsible attorney is needed to be able to follow up on tasks.  Must be able to recognize and consider all possible solutions.  Some travel required.
