Associate General Counsel

A leading NYC-based Hispanic consumer products and telecommunications company is seeking an Associate General Counsel.  Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Associate General Counsel will receive substantial hands-on experience in multiple legal areas and obtain significant professional development in a fast-paced high growth private company.  This candidate must be a highly motivated team player with superior legal ability, interpersonal and communication skills. 

Job Responsibilities:Assist the General Counsel with directing, implementing, managing, coordinating, and supervising all legal matters related to the Company, including, without limitation, intellectual property matters, contract negotiation and document review, employment and immigration matters, telecommunications and financial services regulatory and compliance, real estate, general corporate, transactional work strategic alliances and litigation. In consultation with the General Counsel, advise management on various legal issues relating to the business of the Company. Assume responsibility for the registration, administration and enforcement of the Company's intellectual property portfolio. Review, draft and assist in the negotiation of various contracts and agreements. Assist in managing relationships with multiple sets of outside counsel.Provide legal advice and support to the Company?s organizational development and contribute other divisions in employee relations, hiring, discipline, performance management and termination issues

Required Skills, Attributes & EducationCollege Degree & J.D. from a top-tier law school.Active Member of a State Bar (New York Bar strongly preferred). At least 3+ years of legal experience either at a reputable law firm or in-house.Significant knowledge or experience in some or all of the following areas: (i) contract negotiation and review; (ii) intellectual property (iii) transactional; (iv) litigation, (v) regulatory matters (preferably telecommunications or financial services).In connection with the previous requirement, possess the desire and the ability to research and become knowledgeable about legal areas that he/she is not currently knowledgeable.Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple, high priority projects with a keen attention to detail. Possess sound decision-making ability and understand risk and crisis management. Superior interpersonal, leadership, negotiation, consulting, analytical and problem solving abilities. Hands-on; energetic and motivated self-starter. Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to conduct legal analysis Professional demeanor; team player; ability to interface with internal/external parties. Ability to periodically travel on behalf of the Company.Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
