Associate Writer/Analyst

Description: CCH Inc., a Wolters Kluwer Business and the leading provider of information services, software and workflow tools for tax, accounting, legal and business professionals is seeking a Writer Analyst Associate in our State Tax Group. This position reports to the Managing Editor and is located in Riverwoods, IL.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
o Perform research, analytical and explanatory writing for newsletter-type articles and report letter summaries on state tax developments.
o Develop network of sources for news items and general information
o Obtains and applies a working knowledge of current technologies in the specific business unit
o Makes effort to understand customer and market, applies this understanding to enhance products/writing.
o Review work of others in the group for substance, style, and grammar
o Participate in product evaluation, new product development and/or product enhancement
o May act as Team Customer Response Representative, responding to inquires in a timely manner
o Performs practice systems development or electronic publishing design, with limited direction.
o May assist in the preparation of promotional or training materials for customers and sales representatives
o Assist in conducting competitive analysis.
o Be an effective Team Member.

Qualifications:
o Law degree with 2 years of writing or practice experience, Masters degree with 2 years of practice or writing experience (prefer degree in specialty area), or Bachelors degree (in specialty area) with 4 years related practice or writing experience.
o Must have strong writing skills.
o Must have strong technical skills.
o Must have knowledge of state tax.
o Must be analytical.
o Must have strong communication skills, verbal and written.
o Must be flexible and responsive to change.
o Must be able to effectively work within a team environment.
