Attorney Advisor (Trademarks)

Make your mark with the Trademark Office, part of the performance-based United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Over the last 100 years, more than 2.9 million trademarks have been registered with USPTO, and as filings continue, this creates new opportunities at our Alexandria, Virginia campus for Trademark Attorney Advisors.

 The qualified Attorney Advisor is responsible for ex parte examination of trademark registration applications to ensure they are compliant with the Trademark Act of 1946 including ownership, usage, functionality, etc. Qualified candidates will conduct preliminary reviews of applications; interact with external counsel to resolve issues that arise during examination; prepare cases for appeal to the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board; and recommend approval of marks for publication.


Candidates must have a J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing, of any U.S. state, the District of Columbia or U.S. territory or possession. Knowledge of trademark law is preferred. U.S. citizenship is required. Find out more on our website: www.uspto.gov.
