Attorney Senior

Job Summary: Provide legal and compliance advice to Nordstrom fsb and the credit business unit.





Primary Responsibilities:


? Provide and supervise provision of legal and compliance services and advice for the Bank and the credit business unit.


? Assist in the development of new business products by providing legal and regulatory advice, participating in project teams.


? Draft, negotiate and review contracts with vendors, affiliates and others.


? Review and advise with respect to marketing material and advertising copy, and supervise these services.


? Perform and supervise legal research, and provide and supervise the provision of advice based on research results.


? Assist Nordstrom Inc. Risk Management with respect to any litigation involving Bank.


? Plan and conduct compliance training for new and existing Bank employees.


? Assist and advise with respect to Compliance Management Program, including without limitation, performing certain quarterly compliance self-assessments, and the other specific compliance program-related responsibilities.


? Serve as examination manager for compliance and other regulatory examinations, as assigned.


? Prepare and file regulatory filings as assigned, interact with regulators in connection with examinations.


Minimum Qualifications:


? Juris Doctorate (JD) or Bachelor of Law and Letters (LL.B) degree is required.


? Licensed to practice law in at least one state in the United States (or Washington D.C), and eligible for Colorado license to practice law or Colorado "single client" license is required.


? Minimum of six years of job related experience is required.  Over six years of experience, including some combination of large-firm experience representing credit card issuers or consumer lenders, experience as in in-house attorney for a credit card issuer or processor, and/or financial institution or credit card-related regulatory experience (OCC, OTS, FDIC, FRB or possibly FTC) with emphasis on banking and consumer compliance regulations is preferred.


? Working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) in a Windows environment with an intermediate level of proficiency in word processing (Word), presentation (PowerPoint) and spreadsheet (Excel) software applications is required.


? Must possess and maintain current extensive knowledge of consumer banking and consumer credit laws, current knowledge of industry trends, and current knowledge as to all other applicable state and federal statutes, regulations and case law.


? Ability to deliver exemplary customer service through strong ownership and professionalism and demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through relationship building and collaboration.
